Programme admins can delete a no-longer used self-paced course. Let’s see how to delete a self-paced course in Curricula.
When a self-paced course is deleted, the course budget, discussion forum, and survey will be deleted as well.
Self-paced courses in the Released status cannot be deleted directly. To proceed, you must first unrelease the course.
However, if there are any learning objects or enrolled learners within the self-paced course, you must delete them first, and then unrelease the self-paced course. After completing these steps, you can delete the self-paced course.
1. To delete learning objects and enrolled learners, complete the following steps:
a. Click Admin on the left navigation pane, and then click Course configuration.
b. In the Self-paced courses tab, select the self-paced course and then click Configure.
c. In the Configure content step, select all learning objects and click Delete. Click Delete in the confirmation message.
d. In the Manage learners step, select all learners and click Remove. Click Remove in the confirmation message.
2. To unrelease the self-paced course, complete the following steps:
a. Click Admin on the left navigation pane, and then click Course configuration.
b. In the Self-paced courses tab, select the self-paced course and click Unrelease.
c. Click Unrelease in the confirmation message.
3. Now, you can delete the self-paced course by completing the following steps:
a. Click Admin on the left navigation pane, and then click Course configuration.
b. In the Self-paced courses tab, select the self-paced course and click Delete.
c. Click Delete in the confirmation message.
Self-paced courses in the Unreleased status can be deleted directly.
However, if there are any learning objects or enrolled learners within the self-paced course, you must first release the self-paced course, delete the learning objects and enrolled learners within the self-paced course, and then unrelease the self-paced course. After completing these steps, you can delete the self-paced course.
1. To release the self-paced course, complete the following steps:
a. Click Admin on the left navigation pane, and then click Course configuration.
b. In the Self-paced courses tab, select the self-paced course and click Release.
c. Click Release in the confirmation message.
2. To delete learning objects and enrolled learners, complete the following steps:
a. Click Admin on the left navigation pane, and then click Course configuration.
b. In the Self-paced courses tab, select the self-paced course and then click Configure.
c. In the Configure content step, select all learning objects and click Delete. Click Delete in the confirmation message.
d. In the Manage learners step, select all learners and click Remove. Click Remove in the confirmation message.
3. To unrelease the self-paced course, complete the following steps:
a. Click Admin on the left navigation pane, and then click Course configuration.
b. In the Self-paced courses tab, select the self-paced course and click Unrelease.
c. Click Unrelease in the confirmation message.
4. Now, you can delete the self-paced course by completing the following steps:
a. Click Admin on the left navigation pane, and then click Course configuration.
b. In the Self-paced courses tab, select the self-paced course and click Delete.
c. Click Delete in the confirmation message.
